Coming in at an astonishing $1,300 for the 'standard' edition, this statue is a pretty expensive way to spice up your gaming den or living room. With a price tag like that, it's obviously well out. Talk to Koster in the gambling den (M14.25) and you'll know that you have to become a professional before you can challenge him (Q2.32 Dice Poker: The Professional). Entering the Gambling Den. When you become a professional player, you can play Koster. The Gambling Den. More gamblers to be found in chapter IV.

Witcher 1 gambling den
WTF?! It's not unusual for a particularly hardcore PC gamer to spend well over $1,000 on top-of-the-line PC components (or even just a single part), but as it turns out, there are those who are willing to sink even more cash into decidedly less practical items -- like Prime1Studio's new Geralt of Rivia statue (of Witcher fame).

If you're a completionist, then you're going to need to prepare countless hours exploring the vast terrain presented in The Witcher 3 and all its glorious DLCs. One of the many tasks you'll need to undertake is tracking down every single monster nest in the game. Cee-Lo is a bit more difficult, and good for casinos, or back-alley gambling. A banker offers a stake (like 100 gold), and players 'Fade' that stake, which means they bet a portion (say 20 gold each). Each win gets them back their bet, plus their potion of the stake (so it's a game where you double your money). Then, they roll off 3d6, banker.

Coming in at an astonishing $1,300 for the 'standard' edition, this statue is a pretty expensive way to spice up your gaming den or living room. With a price tag like that, it's obviously well out of reach for most consumers, but on the bright side, Prime1Studios is letting people 'pay with installments,' so that's something. Opting for this payment method will knock the price down to as little as $90 a month, with a $130 up-front deposit.

The statue is 57lb and ships at 1/3 scale, which means it'll stand about 35 inches tall, or roughly 3 feet. It's hard to really picture that kind of sizing without seeing the statue in person, but it will probably be big enough to catch the eye of any visitors you happen to have over.

Its attention-drawing nature is aided by the fact that the statue -- which depicts Geralt in his Witcher 3 gear -- shows our monster-slaying hero holding about four or five severed monster heads. They're fastened with some sort of rope holder, which seems a bit inefficient, but he probably knows what he's doing.

The detail on the statue is, as you'd expect, pretty great looking. You can see the fine textures of Geralt's chainmail pauldrons, his leather gloves, and even his weather-beaten sword scabbards.

If you're a fan of customization, the $1,450 Deluxe Edition may be more your speed. It comes with a total of four swappable heads, each with a slightly different facial expression or beard. Both versions of the statue also have an LED-illuminated stand (the Witcher medallion's eyes will glow red), but the Deluxe edition also includes three 'Deluxe Head Stands' if you want to showcase those separately.

Pre-orders for both statue models are open now, but there's no release date just yet.

Dice Poker: The Sharper is an optional sub-quest of A Game of Dice. It is spawned once Geralt has beaten four professional players. The stakes are higher still, but the winnings are nothing to sneeze at.

  • 4Phases

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Beat the sharpers one by one as you meet them during your journey. The quest ends when you have beaten three sharpers. You can then look forward to playing a legendary player, maybe even the king! The spawns the Dice Poker: The Legend quest.

It is not actually necessary to complete this quest to do Dice Poker: The Legend. It is just nice for continuity.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Either Zoltan or Dandelion can tell Geralt about sharpers.
  • Asking Koster for a game in the Gamblers' den in Chapter III without having beaten four professionals initiates this quest but advancing it only becomes possible after beating the professionals.
  • You must only beat three out of the four sharpers you encounter, so your journal entries may not include all the entries you see below, nor will the phases you do see necessarily be in the same order as shown below.
  • You can find Chireadan during the daytime near the Elven cave on the Lakeside. At night he is inside the cave, sleeping, but does not seem to mind being roused for a quick game of dice.
  • Dandelion is in permanent residence at the Country Inn for the duration of Chapter IV.
